I started my website with the intension of encouraging everyone off all ages but especially females into fly fishing. I am no professional but can appreciate nature, cast a fly and catch a fish.

All non-anglers think that when I go fishing, I thread a couple maggots on a hook, throw it out and sit under an umbrella all day waiting and waiting until a fish bites! As we all know, there's much more to it than that. I am learning each day and love spending time with like mined people, picking up tips and hints.

Fishing has taken me around the world to Alaska, Minnesota, Slovenia, Greece and all over Scotland. I've met lovely people through fishing that will remain friends for life.

I am convinced that if one just gives it a go, they will be "hooked" for life. It's a hobby that turns into an obsession.

Get outside, pick up a rod, have a few casts and enjoy the outdoors. If you hook a fish... it's a bonus.

It is possible to be a feminine angler. I wouldn't be seen dead without my make-up on.. even if I am fishing.

I tried getting my lovely wife into fly fishing from the very start of our 'courting days' dragging her through field, bush and bramble... my missus loves the outdoors, ran marathons a couple of years back and is not a bad spin fisherwoman... but every time we headed to the river to flick a fly a few years back she was more interested in having sex outdoors with the danger of someone catching us...

For a couple years I got f*ck all fishing done but jesus I had a smile on my face... and a sun burnt ****! Then we got married and have a baby I still fly fish though...

You should have gone fishing afterwards. Sex helps you catch fish.

One of my daughters not only fly fishes, but she is also a pretty good caster as well (FFF certified);

here is a picture of Silja casting for sea trout in the sea ...



and one of her being interviewed after winning the Womens Distance Casting event at the 2008 CLA Gamefair ...



and just after landing her biggest Salmon to date (on a 2hand) - a hen (what else!!) of approx 8.4Kg which she returned of course.
