Default Specific techniques for certain flies.

Hello all,
this is my first post after a week or two of lurking. I am a developing flyfisher and was wondering what the msot effective ways of fishing certain flies would be. The reason I ask is that after several months of fishing unsuccessfully with buzzers I was told recently that they should be cast out and not retrived apart from the odd tug. I ended up catching three cracking trout. This made me wonder if I was reducing the amount of fish I was catching by 'incorrectly' retrieving my flies or using them on the wrong line or wrong position when fishing with two or more flies. I would be really greatful if some of the more experinced members on here could give an idoits guide to fishing the most common flies.

Thanks in advance,
Callum

Imagine how the creature that your fly is representing moves, or doesn't move. Try to make your fly behave in a similar way to the behaviour of the real thing.
