Default Dec T&S a must....

I would implore all you stillwater boys to part with a couple 'o squid for this months T&S...

Stan's contribution this month is even more pornographic than usual He has procured the most mouthwatering display of Palmers you'll see this side of heaven. Flies from the usual suspects, plus some beauties from our very own Wee Jimmy.

There's a cracking article on Lomond sea trout too, with splendid pics from our own Capn'fishy

.....and loadsa other good stuff I'm sure... I just seem to be stuck to, sorry, I meant stuck on, the palmers

Crikey heck Urban! ask me another... like the meaning of life or something! I really couldn't choose. To be honest, if my fly box was like a tardis, then every single one of Jimmy's, Stan's, Jeremy's and George's flies would probably have a place. For some reason, I'm not in any great rush to tie up any of Patsy Deery's patterns. I'm sure they are all nifty little fish nobblers, but so far, they haven't 'aroused' me

So I'm a fraid I'm gonna have to dodge your question Urban... and just say that the first one I'm gonna lash up is George Barron's 'Pretender'. It's 'just' a Clan Chief derrivative, but George has a crafty way with tweaking standard and classic patterns that I would otherwise never give much time to.

Will grab one as soon as I see it. T&S bears very little relation to the type of fishing I do, but Stan's fly family articles are always worth reading. The cruncher one was a classic. Will look forward to palmers, like them as well. Thanks for the heads up Scratch.

Who needs Trout and Salmon when we have so many great tyers displaying their wares for free on here.Nice to see my own flies in the mag and all that but I couldny lace the boots of the likes of Midlander,Scratch,Ruthvenflyfisher etc etc.
We are lucky to have these guys and anyone else for that matter who go to the trouble of posting flies and SBSs on here.....long may it continue.

And ya dont get the craic that ya do on here, when reading the mags alone

One thing ive noticed though, when im on the loo with the laptop, the missus doesn't beleive its fishing the way she does when im on the loo with a copy of Trout & Salmon

Wonder why

Thanks for the positive and encouraging words, lads ...................... apart, that is, for you, Millar, ya wee *****! Only kidding.

Unfortunately, as much fun as that series was, that's the end for now.

That's a shame. Only got the Nov and Dec issue - very nice flees.
Still to read the Loch Lomond article.
T & S looking up maybe one or two more articles a month would be good. Didn't see the October article re. furled leaders but Paul Procter's articles on Grayling have been good too.

I always find the instructional tying / making leaders / fishing Devon minnows worth a read. What about a regular article on different boat method's i.e. trolling, rudder fishing, loch style fast slow etc., etc.,

Just a thought - look forward to your next input Stan et al.
