Saturday goes down as one of these.

Having been off the water for the last three weeks I'd been designing and tying flies.

Saturday I managed to get out - got to the water, strung up the rod, attached a new fly.
Cast - fish on and landed.
Walked twenty yards and cast again - another fish.

Changed from a sinking line to a floating line - and to a cone-headed-blob-a-like.
Cast - nowt
Cast - Fish on - but lost.
Cast - Fish on and landed 4lb.

A purple patch indeed - five casts and four fish hooked - three landed.

The rest of the day was much quieter - total of seven, all on home-tied flies.
