Default Bit of a surprise..

went to "my" bit of the Itchen today and flung some bugs about... had some cracking success on an orange spot pink scud tied on a size 12...

First cast... first fish... a MINNOW

wasnt expecting that..

finished the day having had 4 brownies, and 7 grayling on top of the minnow .. lovely afternoon got soaked though

Hi Ichypimp
Was this the stretch by Shawford ? Think I may have to get myself along there if I can sneak away from work at sometime this week

All you need now is a chalkstream gudgeon by fair angling !! I got mine from the "fast" carrier at Timsbury a few years ago.

Default Free fishing on the Itchin

There's only one bit of free fishing on the Itchin that is worth while, that's at Bishopstoke, shawford is a waste of effort, as is most of the Winchester area, Oh! yes, there are fish but few and far between, more likely to lift into some old dear on her after dinner riverside walk, believe me, I've been fishing the Itchin for over 70 years..................???

Just realised, ickypimp has been fishing a freebee on the Itchen, could be a different river to the Itchin I fish.......??
