Default Day ticket Rivers in Cheshire.

Hi,
I want to graduate from still water fly fishing to the rivers. From speaking to most fly anglers its the best type of fishing in our sport, plus I'm off to New Zealand in the new year so I want to be able to adapt to any opportunities for fishing that may come about. Hopefully members of this forum as they normally do, will point me in the right direction. I am fixed up with a 9' 5wt rod raring to go, I could do with some suggestions to day ticket waters (rivers) in Cheshire, and where to buy the tickets. I am too late and should look to the new year to start river fishing. All help appreciated.

Cheers
Tony

Default Day ticket rivers cheshire

In cheshire the one rivers I can think of Dane, Peover Eye, Birkin are all club waters. However for a little more miles you have some great fishing in Derbyshire including some ticket water. There is the Wye at Bakewell (Peacock Hotel I think) a bit expensive but top class and one of the few Northern Chalk streams. Otherwise try the Ribble Red Lion Inn settle again top drawer and only hour and a bit drive from Cheshire.

Hi Tony
Cheshire borders the North Wales side of trout fishing as well as the North West, so as I don't know which side of Cheshire you are considering, I suggest you look at the waters section of:

www.paas.co.uk

and

www.baymaltonanglingclub.org.uk

and

http://www.flyfishwales.co.uk/

and

http://www.fishing.visitwales.com/

as starting points

Best regards
C

I started fly fishing rivers on the Welsh Dee when I lived on the Wirral - Bala Anglers water tickets from the Bryntirion Inn at Llanderfel.

Being one of the best grayling rivers in Europe the Welsh Dee will offer you fishing right through the Winter water height permitting.
