Default Lines from USA

With the drop in value of the Pound against the Dollar will we see an increase in the cost of American made lines ie:- SA,Cortland,,Rio.I doubt the price of rods will go up as they are already overpriced.

I would think there may be a lot more bargains about in the current climate to get people to part with their money which is tighter.

Now the economic wonks are saying that we're on the verge of deflation--where prices drop dramatically on a whole range of products. Our gas is now close to $2 a gallon--which is a price I've not seen for a couple of years. I've not noticed much deflation in other prices, though.

I'm also anxiously waiting for a real drop in the pound/dollar exchange. The person I live with is talking about a trip to Scotland this spring to look for colleges for Number 2 Son. Don't know if that will happen, but as the pound sinks against the dollar, it's more likely...If the trip happens, I can see a whole range of dyed hen necks and junglecock in my future.

This has occurred to me also.

I have a growing urge to walk into a bank and have a conversation along the lines of -

"Look, over the past few years I've been taking a few risks, I've not been very prudent, in fact - I've been a bit reckless - and now I'm skint! However, I'm a tax payer so I expect you to bail me out without question or any recourse to penalty - OK?"

There was a massive mark up on the lines. A £50 line at UK price was about £35 if bought retail in the US so as with the rods they may be able to absorb. However, the last line I bought was a Fulling Mill from Pitsford Pirate on the forum - very nice line and great guy to buy from - definitely recommended.
