good read . Might be difficult at this time of year though

i thought the first loch on the right from dollar was one of these lochs but it turns out the 1 im thinking of is Castlehill fishery also in glendevon . Just looked at there website and the rainbows look awfull . Lots of pike pictures and a 4lb broonie .

i have fished both of them mate (numerous times) and have to say i prefer glensherrup, this is by far the smaller of the two but, the fish(better quality) seem to be more spread about and you can catch all over the loch. the people running the place are fantastic hosts and full of banter, they will even have your brekkie roll and a cuppa ready for you when you arrive.

frandy(lower), (there is an upper but i dont think its a fishery) beutiful scenery, seems to be plenty fish, but, in concentrated areas, those being the very far end where the burn comes in, turn left from the jetty and carry on down till the loch really narrows. Secondly, right infront of the fishing lodge, and along the right hand end of the dam wall (this is where the fish get stocked) and that in my experience, is where you will find the fish at frandy.

i would recommend however you give them both a try and make up your own mind mate

thanks for that robbie , by the way paul young was talking when he was on glensherrup it looked like he was looking forward to fishing . He caught a rainbow perfectly formed at 3.5lbs and said its the nicest rainbow he has caught

is it the same people that run both fisheries ?

marky,
If memory serves me right this prog is at least ten years old, possibly more, the then manager, his name was richard something, used to have the tackle shop in Kinross, both he and his wife had Scotland caps, was the last manager/ owner of Fitty.
Glensherup is run by the bloke that has Lindores?
Deffinately one of the best buzzer waters in the area.

Default frandy and glensherrup

the info given beforehand ref the owners of glensherrup is correct, although i believe that there is a third person involved somewhere along the line, andy wrote to most angling clubs who fished lindores explaining that now lindores is closing as a fishery he would be concentrating on glensherrup for season 2009 and making improvements to all aspects of the fishery, so should be even better next year.

frandy i believe is owned by cloan hatcheries who also have butterstone loch which is between blairgowrie and dunkeld, IMO has gone downhill since. being that im not a regular to either of the cloan owned fisheries it is a while since ive been and the quality of fish and fishing may have improved.
