Default Fishing in the Gairloch Area

Does anyone know if this book is still available? Amazon says it isn't but the web site (http://www.gairloch-fishing.co.uk) implies it is. Those who have seen my post on fishing in NW Scotland (and thanks for the replies again) will know that the Domestic Authority has authorised a trip there next May and I wish to whet my appetite over the winter months.
Thanks
GD

You've been reading Jonn Beer in this month's T&S, GD? So have I...

Do let us know if you can still get hold of a copy... I'd quite like one too.

BTW, re your camper van query on your other thread, did you see Mark Bowler's "Herbie goes to Assynt" series in the Aug / Sept 2007 issues of FF&FT? If not, check out www.coolcamperhire.co.uk anyway: one of those slim little VWs might be easier than the "Wyominingoid road slugs" you'll meet in the States...

Maybe see you up there? again.

Indeed I have - and I'll follow up the FF&FT lead - I only started taking it regularly this year as it wasn't available in local Newsagents regularly; I had several trips to Glasgow and picked it up on the station. I have just subscribed.
Thanks

GD, did you have any luck getting hold of a copy?

<goes back to poring wishfully over OS maps of Scotland>

Default tourist information

tourist information office in Gairloch sells it for £5.90, im sure they would send you one if you phoned them. alternately just nip into the pub there with a pen and notebook.

Default Poss Hotels in the Area

Thanks - just getting going again on this. After our first investigations into the feasibility / desirability of a camper van and examining the density of the potential fishing locations we've rather gone off the mobile sleeping quarters (the DA in particular is heavily attached to creature comforts and the possibility of a spa). Does anyone have any hotels in and around the Gairloch / Poolewe or Ullapool area that they would recommend?
Thanks
GD

When I looked up the information office I thought they weren't open until May; do let me know if you get through! There is a *.pdf of some info on the web - pm me and I'll send the reference to you (or let me have an e-mail address and I'll galdly send you a copy)
