Default BBC and Stephen Fry in America

Hi All,
Not sure if anyone watched the program last week ( see http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...ns_and_Plains/ )
I have been waiting in anticipation for this episode dealing with the Rockies and the surrounding states.
What a disapointment it was, 10 mins in Montana Glacier National Park, then onto the controversial Ted Turner.
Hardly a mention of Idaho, a quick coffee in Aspen Colorado and visit to Wyoming , all the time driving through some of the best fly fishing areas in the world.
They should have replaced Ted Turner or the 'truckers' clip with some quality fly fishing in the blue ribbon streams.
Cheers
Richard

Yes, I was rather disappointed too. I'd loved to have seen more of Montana, what beautiful country, and would love to wet a line there myself one day - when I win the lottery of course

Richard,

Scandalous though it is, not everyone in the world likes flyfishing. By the same token, if the Beeb sent me to do a winter tour of the Alps for documentary purposes, it would revolve around food, booze and the beautiful people.

Because not everyone in the world gives a rat's about skiing...

Brings to mind the review in Shooting Times of Lady Chatterley's Lover- apparently there was some useful material re partridge husbandry which was rather spoiled by some beastly sexual goings on.I would moan like hell if Fry covered golf courses so why should I expect him to include a minority interest like fly fishing on a whistle stop tour of the States ? I love motor sport but I guess most people would be pretty bored if the Florida piece was all about Daytona ?

It's constantly repeated on Discovery RealTime Extra Roy, in fact it's on tonight at 21:00.
