Default Fly line problem

Leader got wrapped round the line, I tugged too hard, and the leader sliced into the line, making a deep cut that goes nearly all the way round.

How should I fix this? Or is it safe to leave it alone? It's a Cortland floater so one worry is that water can get in and make it sink (though this didn't seem to happen today when I kept fishing with it). Another is if the line might break. The cut is quite a few yards from the tip, so another worry is that any repair might end up catching in the rod rings when I shoot line.

And not only that, I blanked (and got soaked in the rain).

I would seal it with a tiny drop of waterproof superglue. or you could use some heated up (in hot water) Aquasure.
Or finally you could use heat shrink to weld it back together. before removing the tubing.

Aquasure or Knot Sense for me, I would not attempt trying to welding using shrink tubing unless you are proficient at this method, you could end up ruining the line.

Aquasure is meant for repairing holes in waders. Is a lot thicker than superglue and stays flexible.(It's realy meant as a filler) It also cost's £6 a tube and even keeping the opened tube in the freezer.I find it still goes off/hard.
are you sure your Superglue is waterproof. I would recomend the gel type superglue.

The superglue I have is one I got free from the Pirate with a line. But I did wonder about flexibility - I used it before to try and mend a crack on a line that had hinged at the braided loop and felt it maybe wasn't the best thing, though fine for attaching loops of course. So maybe I'll go for Aquasure which sounds like a safer bet even if it's pricey.

Heat the tube of Aquasure in a tub of hot water this will help it flow better.
then apply with a needle to the cut area.
