Default river fishing for rainbows in scotland

getting back into the sport after a 5 year absence and i fancy fishing for rainbows in a river anyone know of anywhere in scotland where this can be done

Get the yellow pages out, look for fish farms, fish the beats below them after some high water.

That might be your only chance. I doubt if they are allowed to stock rivers with rainbows.

Why rainbows?

Plenty of good grayling rivers in Scotland. Think there is a river in Aviemore linked to the Rothiemurcus fishery, remember seeing Paul Young catching a rainbow from that river.

There is a reasonable head of escapee Rainbows in the river Earn.so whilst you fish for Grayling you can catch the odd Rainbow.

I fish a lot downstream from a fish farm on the river Cairn for Salmon,and do come across these escapees, they are usually all like peas on a pod i took out 8 one day and everyone was exactly one pound, these fish are so greedy, they usually get caught pretty quick, and they seem to escape maybee twice or thrice a year,
So you couldnt predict when they would be in the river,
Most Salmon anglers on this river Jim including myself find these fish a nuisance,
and prefer our Bows in lochs
