Default "Early Season Trout Fishing" DVD

I’ve just purchased the Fish ON productions DVD “Early Season Trout Fishing” and it is superb.

No frenetic music or screaming and yelling, just a couple of guys (John Tyzack and Dean Andrews) fishing a river and explaining what they are doing and why.

There are short and succinct sections on basic entymology, fly selection to match the hatch, tackle and leader make up but it is predominantly a fishing DVD.

Very professionally filmed it is entertaining and instructional and I think it is a must see for any budding or improving river man.

See their web site here for further info:

The funny thing, I think, is that "JT" acts more naturally on the DVD than the professional actor

Watched it several times now..still excellent.

Sounds interesting, one of my aims for next year is to be more successful in the early season (hopefully catch something on opening day). What kind of tactics do they look at in the video?

Steve

Hi Steve,

(My way with) North Country Spiders and springtime dry fly fishing are both examined in quite a bit of detail.

Thanks to all for the interest. We hope you enjoy the DVD...

Cheers,

JT

Another satisfied customer here - very informative and very comprehensive. Probably not quite as good as an actual day on the river with JT but if you can't manage that, this isn't such a bad alternative!

It was also good to see such a detailed fly-tying section on there too - those gold-headed Endrick spiders caught me fish all through last season, so it was great to see a step by step video on the DVD.
