Unhappy Flyline help

Have just managed to accidently damage the end of my rather new hardy wf5 floating flyline ( miss-layed soldering iron ) 3" up from the tip and melted almost clean through

Im guessing ( and hoping ) that though maybe not ideal it may be o.k to cut back a couple of inches and fish?? is the profile adversely affected?

No problem at all - you'll not notice any difference.
