Default Books to read.

Hi all.

I'm looking for fly fishing books to read, not techniques or tips but more like memoirs and stories. Trying to kill time till I can get back on the water. I've read a fair few but was hoping for a few suggestions or just to hear peoples fav's etc.

Ta, D.

Anything written by John Geirach, Trout at Ten thosand feet by John Baily and the Longest Silence by Thomas McGuane. Wild fishing in wild places and Paradise found-travels with a fly rod by Adrian Latimer. Reading the water by Darryl Grimason, The Accidental angler and Somewhere Else by Charles Rangeley Wilson. All highly recommended (but only by me ).
Should keep you going,
All the best,
Andy.

Have recently read Brian Clarkes 'On Fishing' and John Aston's 'A Dream of Jewelled Fishes'. Neither are the 'tips and techniques' but more inspirational and story telling type books. I enjoyed and would recommennd them both.

I am reading Brian Clarkes `On Fishing` at the moment FF and really enjoying it. One more to add to the list could be Chris Newtons autobiography of Hugh Falkus, A Life on the edge. That is a really good read and a real insight into the man himself,
Good fishing,
Andy.

One from a local Northern Ireland writer which I enjoyed was 'Reading The Water' by Daryll Grimason. Anyone who has watched 'Coast to Coast' on the Discovery Real Time channel will have seen him.

Alex. I agree.
Andrew. I am going to get each of the books you have mentioned and enjoy the long winters nights.
I have just finished reading my late fathers old copy of The Fishermans Bedside Book B.B. for the fifth time, lovely read about all types of fishing as you will no doubt know.
