Default Milbro Trufly

Hi
Someone gave me an old Milbrolite Rod, a Trufly 2 piece 8'6''. Just wondered if the rod was worth anything (probably not) and if so where would be the best place to sell it. If it's not worth much I'm happy to give it away to anyone who might have an interest in this sort of thing.

Cheers
Tony

Yeah a great rod in it's day. A classic glass rod, mine worked well for many years, my first proper rod. Of no great value unless it is "as new" condition" Then I would make you an offer. That & the Sealy Glane were to me real fly rods, but then came the Hardy Jet....etc etc

I have a 9ft 6" 6wt 3pce , got it off my dad when i started fly fishing .he said he bought it in the 60's brand new .
its in absolute mint condition , think he used it twice , i've used it once and a mate has used it once when he broke his rod .

it has brass ?? ferrules and is rather heavy compared to todays modern rods .

very whippy aswell from what i remember .been in my garage for about 10 years now .

i asked the same question on the old forum , plenty of interest and knowledge about the rod , (i think highlander was 1st to answer ). don't think its worth much but its a lovely looking rod for its age and would probably never sell it anyway .

i would swap for a springer spaniel pup tho

Are you sure about that The Trufly was a fly rod. I remember The Spinwell as a light spinning rod I used for wobbled Minnow, bubble float & fly. Having said that I used a 10ft old fly rod for bubble float were bye one could hold it up high & bob one of the flies from quite a long way off. Remember a German angler up north fishing a bubble float with the flies dangling from the float. When I showed him the "correct" way & he caught a few Trout he thought I was some sort of fishing god. Those were the days.
