Default My kind of magazine

Anyone else come across 'The Drake' magazine. US publication - just excellent! I have just received my first subscription issue - what a refreshing change. Even has "page Six Chix"

I've read it for years now. Funny and interesting, but the OTT Steelhead Rambo style can wear a little thin sometimes. Political correctness, however, is one thing they won't be accused of.

The forum on the Drake Magazine website is pretty entertaining sometimes. Also, the Alaska Chronicles blog is one of the funniest pieces of fly fishing writing I've ever read.

The navigation is kind of wonky, just click around and follow the post dates to read it in order.

Hmmm... in the two issues I have read, there has been precious little blasphemy - just good writing, excellent photography, and a rather more fresh and edgy approach to a subject matter - which is treated to a largely dull and formulaic approach by the mags over here.

Each to their own I guess.

Ok so we will just flick through this one. In no particular order.

If that is for you "dude" be my guest. Not for this man.
Maybe they do things different in the The Wild West of Dymock
Oh the blanked out parts are all swear words & obscenities. Could not find blasphemy in this one but it has been there. My only gripe is I had to read through some of this tripe to find this wee lot

Is it the spring 08 edition Tigermoth, the one on the home page of the website? I ask because there is an article advertised there with ten fly fishermen putting thier game faces on and one of them is Matt Hayes. It isn`t the British Matt Hayes is it ?
Good fishing,
Andy.

P.s, the AK Chronicles is some of the best fly fishing writing ever

Dunno about Matt Hayes Andy...

The Mag I have is the Fall 08 edition, but I have also read the spring 08 issue. I subscribed a few weeks back and it was painless. One of the nicest features is the price tag:

"5 Bucks....
10 for Bait Fishermen"
