Popped into Loynton today. the shop has been taken over by orvis. Still selling clothing but quite an impressive fly fishing dept, including fly tying materials and a good selection of flies & with more gear to come. It is now a separate business from the fishery. This imo it is great as otherwise the nearest shop is Stapley.

I can't remember the name of the chap in Stapeley who works the fly-fishing section, he's very good, always helpful and pleasant, but the stock let's that place down. They don't seem to update a lot of the bigger items and they lack choice in some simple stuff like tippet materials.

Maybe i'll have to drive home from work on the Eccleshall road occassionally now!
