Default CORIXA and smash takes

Hi All

i`ve left this question as part of my post in another thread but i thought i should also ask it here..

i have always been led to believe that CORIXA have a wicked little nip and that trout are aware of this hence the reason for trout hitting them so hard which rersults in smash takes,,can anyone confirm if this is true or not

Regards
CORONA

Can't say I've ever been nipped by a Corixa mate and some of my Corixa takes have been very gentle indeed. Trout ingest Caddis cases, twigs, Sticklebacks, Damsel nymphs and Perch fry. I can't see them being particularly worried by a nipping Corixa. But...stranger things have happened.

Cheers midlander

just had a look on the internet and there is a species of the water boatman that appear to bite/nip at there prey then inject a toxin to kill it, never knew they were capable of killing and eating small fish and tadpoles hmmmm mean little devils, wether they live in our waters is another matter,,it seems we have more of the "lesser water boatman" in our waters
