Default Where to fish in the Glasgow area

Hi, I am looking for some advice on where to fish around Glasgow. Although I relocated to the Dullatur area some 2 years ago it is only recently that I have got out with the rod down here.

I am looking for quality and quantity trout fishing for either rainbows or wild browns, loch or river. My only problem is boat fishing as its not very easy to fish and handle the boat on your own!!!

I have ventured out to a few places in the last few months but its real hit and miss whether the place is any good or not.

Any pointers greatly recieved as i intend to go out this Saturday

Regards
HB

I used to fish the south side and my regular haunts were Lawfield and Howwood. Laterly tended to fish Howwood as you can get a boat ticket that allows you to escape the worst of the battle for bank space.

Alex Cairnie on here has fishing over Neilson way which is meant to be good but not had a chance to try them.

Hello Hector,

You're in luck mate. There's actually quite a few of us who are active around Cumbernauld, Kilsyth, Banknock who post here and elsewhere.

You're also in a great location for fishing anywhere around the central belt, NW Highlands, Lothians etc., etc., but you don't need me to tell you that. I'm just over the hill from you so check out my blog as undernoted for some of the places I fish or send me a P.M. if you like . If I can't help I'll put you onto someone who can.

HB Fush Indeed.
