the weirdest thing I have ever caught is a sea lamprey fly fishing for sea trout. nasty looking thing when you shine a torch on them.

Panty liner

Luckily i was using barbless so it and my fly parted ways easily enough with little fuss.

Default Night time special;

A garage door while night time seatrout fishing, Played it for 40 min till it beached itself on a sandbar. Was mighty embarrassed when the angler on the opposite bank, who had been following the fight blow by blow unhooked it and returned it unharmed to the river

A mink from Lake Derrylea in Connemara. You can probably guess the outcome...it wasn't pretty

A couple of Sea Gulls surface fishing for Pacific Salmon. Glad I was using barbless hooks.

A freshwater mussel whilst spinning with a Mepps for perch in gravel pit. I can only think that I must have 'bounced' the Mepps on the bottom as the mussel had completely closed around the Mepps - had to prise the mussel open with a knife to reclaim my spinner.
