Default Trout fishing on Loch Tay

Hi,

I'm thinking about heading out for a spot of trout fishing in Loch Tay before the season finishes. Anyone out there know if it fishes well at the back end?

We will be out in a boat (weather permitting). I'm sure I've read somewhere its good towards the end of the season.

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers,
TS

Hi. I did make it out......but not to Loch Tay lol. The weather seemed a bit awkward up there so I went to Loch Earn instead. If Loch Earn was anything to go by, I doubt Loch Tay would be up to much! glass calm and not a fish in site

cheers for the info james. I was working up at loch Tay on Mon and it was glass calm too. Saw a few fish rising though and was speaking to some locals about the fishing-lots of pike aparently. Think we're going to give it a shot-even if theres no troots about I'll take my 9 weight for the pike-hopefully get a biggie.

Cheers

TS

Caught a few reasonable pike from the mouth of the Dochart and down into the loch, loads of perch there to, though it was a few years ago
