I have recently moved to Scotland and have been out fishing on the river Devon near Tillicoultry and Dollar. Not done much river fishing before, used to fish the reservoirs back home. Does any one have a few tips on flies, best times too fish and some good spots. Been on it at least once a week and an caught some loverly little browns.

Devon is a great stream, don't expect any monsters a fish of a pound is a cracker. The usual emergers (klinks, DHE etc), nymphs (goldheads) and spiders have worked well for me in the past. At this time of the year I'd expect that you could catch all through the daylight hours.

Sorry I can't help any more as mine are packed following a move. You're in a great part of the country - I think you'll find the fishing different from reservoirs. Might be worth a chat in the tackle shops in Stirling or Alloa??
