Thumbs up Bffi

Are forum members going to this? It's come to define the end of my trout season over recent years, though still hope for a few days of grayling fishing in Yorks the following week. It's a chance to spend too much on fly tying materials for the winter and silly amounts on Paul Morgan's books. Never thought I was a fan of shows, but this one's excellent. Just booked our hotel for the night before.

Hi Tippetiwitchet

I hope to be there.

Actually booking a room for Sat night sounds like a good idea, would much prefer to attend both days. Just to far to go back and fourth, even though it is a great show.

Any ideas for accommodation and prices?

I'm exploiting my employer and using hotel points to stay at the Holiday Inn on Clayton road, not too far away.

Stayed there last year and is only a 5 min taxi ride away, think the taxi was about £2. Beware of the breakfast though, dont do what I did and sit down for a feed and then find out it cost £12. There is some good food at the fair.

There is a new hotel actually on the show site - its a Premier Lodge for that and more hotels etc go to www.bffi.co.uk and click on accommodation.

It will be a busy weekend in sunny Stoke as the Mighty Potters are playing Arsenal at home on the Saturday so the whole place will be heaving with Gooners!

If you have any problems pm me

Cheers Steve Cooper

I guess I'd say it was dominated by fly tying, though there's plenty of other exhibitors usually as well, likes of Snowbee, Hardy/Greys, plus retailers such as Glasgow Angling centre etc with other tackle. It's not dominated by the big guns so much, actually that's what I like about it. There are usually some phenomenal tyers at it though.

Yes, its at Trentham Gardens.
