Default Landing nets.....

Hi guys, I'm looking at buying a new landing net to compliment my new wading jacket. The problem is that there seem to be that bloody many I was wondering what ones you lost use. I have a few requirements, most importantly it needs to be able to fold down and fasten onto the back of my wading jacket and be big enough to hold a good 3 or 4lb trout. Just let me know what you guys are currently using and I'll check them out thanks

Have just quite recently bought a 24" Pafex net.

It seems very well made and extremely light. It also has a good quality clip. The mesh is of the fine coarse fishing type. I have only used it a couple of times so far, but my impressions are very favourable.

Default Trout Net

Check out Lureflash Adder Folding net, at just £6.50 and Leeda 60cm folding trout nets which are really low cost and clip on your jacket

I use a Solvkroken folding/telescopic. Good quality and available in 3 different sizes. Good prices from Mularkeys.

a shallow scoop net is usually enough. make sure the netting is not knotted and not too long or it tends to get hung up on everything. I have replaced my net on the frame and it now has a measuring scale on the bottom so that you get an idea of the size whilst the fish is still in the net.

One of the best nets I have found has been the Highlander landing net, which is from lureflash aswell.its a strong net with a steel frame which i feel is needed rather than the elasticated ones which break on a decent fish.It is telescopic and sturdy and around £30 a good bargain.

One I would definitely avoid it the Snowbee Telescopic/Folding Landing Net. The mesh is too large, it doesn't easily open up and is generally poor quality.

Go for the Distinction net - it is the 'dogs bits' mate.
They have a large capacity, excellent narrow fish friendly mesh and a very long foldable handle. TFF gave them top marks in thier review a few months back.
They are available in two sizes, 40cm x 45cm code: T1345, and 50cm x 55cm code:T1346 and are made by Maver.

Now for the best part....they are about £15
