Default Where to take a beginner?

I've been asked by a friend to take them fishing for their first time this weekend. I'd love to, but I'm not really sure where to take them. Ideally within an hour or so of London

They've never fly fished before so I'd like it to be a nice venue with easy casting and decent surroundings. A better than average chance of a fish would be good too.

There are a few placed local like the Syon/Albury lakes, but I don't know how they're fishing and I maybe fancy something a bit nicer.

I'd prefer a river, but I'm guessing a still water is easier for a novice.

No idea, I'm all ears.

Might be worth a couple of hours in the park to get the basics of casting down.

You know, if one person, just one person does it they may think he's really sick and they won't take him.

And if two people, two people do it, in harmony, they may think they're both faggots and they won't take either of them.

And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking into the park, throwing a few casts and walking out.

They may think it's an organization.

Stillwater wise, your req has Coltsford Mill written all over it! I take novices there regularly and am indeed doing so on Sunday

Coltsford Mill nice place, but not on a windy day for a beginner.

Albury at Vale End I would recommend, one of the least windy fisheries I've come across, except Frensham but less room for casting.
