How's it looking in your neck of the woods? This is the Derwent just down the road from me at Lintzford this afternoon. That bench normally sits on a charming little terrace which overlooks the river. The river's probably dropped three feet from yesterday afternoon too, when it was all over the fields…

Blimey Yorkio that looks serious, the Eden up here is high but not that bad.
Hope you don't get flooded out.

It took me over 2 hours to get home to Whitley Bay from Tunstall yesterday (normally takes an hour). Several roads closed due to flooding, including A69 - main route from East coast to west.

Parts of the A68 (another busy route) had the actual road surface washing away!!

It wasn't fun!

Nah, we're fine up here on the top of the hill! It's a killer when you're coming back from the bus stop, but it does have its advantages at times, I suppose.

It was a bit hairy yesterday though - there was one particularly tricky bit of road, which runs alongside the river, which was completely flooded yesterday with water coming down off the hill. The scary thing was driving along there in four or five inches of water and looking off to the other side to see the river just a few yards away through the trees just about to burst its banks!

I hope Grommit's alright up in Morpeth. His shop's quite a way back from the river so unless M&S copped it too, he should be OK…
