Default Info on a rod could it do the job needed

ok so i have a 4/5 rod (im currently away from home) and i was wondering if a 5wt rod could handel 1-5pound trout in a small stillwater i want to fish
the stillwater is just below neath and the name begins with a but cant spell the name of the top of my head

I dunno Craig I think you're getting a bit technical here. The front of your head is called 'The face' - this part has subnames such as mouth and nose etc, and the sides of your head are kinda 'the ears' but apart from that, the only part of the head which has a name as such is really 'The brain' - which reminds me, where did you leave yours? On the bus to Northampton

I wouldn't go lighter than 6lb tippet.
