Default Fishing in the Rain - Worth it?

Hi all,

just a quick question.

It is absolutely bouncing out there and I was wondering if fishing for trout (both wild brownies and rainbows) is worth it when it is raining?

Do the fish stay at the bottom and feed or are the still as active in looking for food?

Any tips/help is appreciated.

Many thanks.

I think they stay near the bottom so that they don't get wet

Even having all the gear, if i look out the window and its chucking it down, i give it a miss.
Unless i was booked in to travel to a fishery.
I have visited my local fishery in heavy rain just to sit in the cabin for a chat,
Looking out the window all the fishers have that look on their face that they are not happy and not enjoying themselves,
Give it a miss and go back when the weather is kinder.

Depends ont he fishing. it's hopeless (generally) for dry fly fishing, and stalking! if you want to cast blind then i find a rainy day can often be quite good, something to do with extra oxygenation from the rain...

Good luck!
