Default What's the best item you've bought from a forum member

Since joining this forum I have bought a lot of stuff from members, most of it has been fantastic, but the one item I am absoloutley over the moon with has been my Orvis T3 8ft #4 from. James, Doublebadger
The rod was just as described and although there was a slight mix up over delivery, ( James knows what I mean, enough said) it pleases me no end, every time I use it, fitted with one of WCBs Battenkill LA1s it is a marriage made in heaven and feels like an extension of my arm. A good saving on new price I remain a very happy bunny. Whats been your best buy?

I bought a copy of Ollie Edwards' hard to find book 'Flytyer's Masterclass' a couple of years ago from a member who no longer posts here.
The book typically fetches in excess of £60 these days, but the guy sold it to me for the RRP ie £25. Needless to say I was well pleased!

You'd be hard pushed to beat one of Pirates shakey worcestershire lines for £13.50.

Have bought a few things on forum which have been great value for the money. The best individual buy has to be Hardy Mach 1 line I got for I think £15 (can't remember who from) and best consistent purchase has to be lines from PP.

Funnily enough I have never bought or indeed sold anything that I can remember. Given away a few things & received a few others.
Why? I really do not know. Maybe just to slow to react to "a Bargain"
maybe nothing of interest has passed my way. One thing I will do is buy a couple of Piratess fly lines but only when I am in the market. You cannae all be wrong about the service Other than a few disappointments on given things like the 2 doz Jungle Cock nails I sent a forum member for his saltwater/Pike flies & never even received acknowledgement one way or other, most things have went well & people respond with kind words which is quite heartening in this day & age.

The best things I have got from this forum is tons of advice, plenty of good sense and quite a bit of fun and banter. Priceless. ATB, Alan
