Cant give you a step by step guide, but there is a superb little book,
The pocket guide to fishing knots by Peter Owen, the one you want is called the three turn water knot, if as you say you haven't been fishing for long, i would only fish one dropper, that gives you two flies, and less tangles.

I prefer the 3-4 turn water knot,Sharpey just remember when you tie this knot, you MUST use the piece of line which points down to the end of your leader to attach your dropper fly to, do not use the end which points at your flyline as under pressure this cuts into the knot and will cause a breakage.

Btw the water knot is called a surgeons loop in the US,just so the title isn't confusing.

I normally have a 6-8" dropper around 3 ft from the point fly,the dropper being tied around 8 ft from the fly line,it really depends on condition mate, flat calms i'll go with a longer leader, blowing a hooley reduce it,but that's just me and knowing what I can and can't get away with casting wise.

Try point fly-4' 1st dropper-4' 2nd dropper-4' flyline.just to be getting on with, the distance between the point fly and the topdropper can be no more than a couple of feet longer than your rod or you will find it v-hard to land your fish.

That's a good balanced set-up 3lb suggests, but please don't take this the wrong way Sharpey,as I know you said you haven't been fly fishing all that long, but how is your casting mate?
meaning i've been there and still do get quite a few tangles with droppers, there's nowt worse than rigging all that set-up only for cast after cast getting foul-up,it can dampen your day.
I was told early doors that it's always better to present one fly well, than two or three badly.
Apologies if this doesn't apply.

Very interesting, i was always taught by the old school to cut the nylon pointing down to the leader, as using the other end made the fly present better, and i cant remember having any breakages, but maybee ive just been lucky.
