Default Angling Clubs

Hi, there is the Skelmorlie Angling Club which has the Kelly Reservoir up behind the Caravan Park in Wemyss Bay............Club is limited to 50 members and i believe is full at the moment.......£50 per year

There is Largs and District AC, which has 3 Lochs and the 2 rivers in Largs.....
the main Loch is Muirhead reservoir (110acres)which lies on the road between Largs and Kilbirnie (1st Loch you come to heading to Kilbirnie)....well stocked Loch with nice Brown Trout in it and a sprinkling of rainbows..........bank fishing and also 3 boats..there is also outerwards reservoir on the old Largs road heading for Greenock and Crosbie Reservoir in West Kilbride...all for £50 per year

I`m a member of both clubs so if your interested PM me and i`ll pass on the contact details of club secretaries

Gus..didn't know about this one. Do you know if they do day permits and if so, where I could get one?

Already a member of Largs AC.

Gus, would it be ok to PM you my details too?

ptfc4171 - dont forget the Greenock & District AC which has Loch Thom amongst others. Only £25 for membership and they have an open day this Sunday at Loch Thom. Have a look at their site for more details.

I wont be able to make it myself as I forgot about the dates and I am going to a forum day out at Harelaw if you are interested?

Coaster, Skelmorlie Angling CLub.........is more like a syndicate............so there are no day permits available...............all the money collected in fees in spent on fish..........only overheads are secretaries mailing costs and the cost of stock..............

I can take up to 10 guests a year so if your interested in a morning or afternoon visit i`ll try and get something organised...........

Hi I'm a skelmorlie member too........

- as Gus mentioned there's no day permits for Skelmorlie - access to the loch is restricted by one dirt track and two padlocked gates !
Tho guests are allowed to fish for free - one per member per visit.
Strictly speaking you have to live in Inverkip / Wemyss bay or Skelmorlie to be eligible and there is a shortish waiting list.

Hey Gus - didn't know you were a member of the Skelmorlie club !!! - See you ramorra !

Coaster - you probably know already ...there's loads of places to fish around these parts even if you are not a club member.

There is also the Cardwell gamefishers club - based out of the Cardwell Pub in Gourock (its also full at the mo) , they have no water but run bus trips to various lochs/fisheries.

The Greenock and District AC is good value and accepting members (you can enquire/ get app forms at Ronnie Petersons fishing shop in Greenock) - they are stocking Loch Thom a lot more frequently now and with better sized fish (you can also get a day permit from Ronnies for a few quid).
