normal braided loops have double wall so far down from the loop about the same length as moser's, although i now use moser's for them that dont wish to pay the price for them ,just cut off the extra length of braid past the doubled wall section leaving around an eighth of an inch to start the feed of the fly line into the double walled section, once you have fed it upto the loop put a small drop of zap a gap at the point where the fly line ends, that serves two purposes ,1,it secures the line to the end of the braid,2, it seals the end of the fly line to stop ingress of water up the braided core, then put a tiny drop at the other end then whip the end onto the fly line or use the sleeve if you wish, if you whip it onto the line coat with a small amount of varnish or as i prefer to rub a very small amount of aquasure around the whipping which stays very flexible
zap a gap..its rubberised and waterproof ,not all superglues are ..
