Default Tamar hatchery fish kill

One of the many interesting topics arising from the ongoing debate over the future of the Wye in the “Wye to date” thread was the demise of the broodstock destined to provide for the Tamar.

From LDO -

Take Peter Grays latest venture on the Tamar where for a variety of reasons 90% of the broodstock died before stripping

You then have the gall, as do many of your ilk, to further denigrate the efforts of Peter Grey. You know only too well the problems he encountered on the Tamar with the EA, who are entirely to blame for that episode, whilst your previous employers, the South West Rivers Trust, stood by and did nothing. You know the full story of that episode and so do I so I treat your comments with contempt.
I’d heard about this on the grapevine some time ago and wondered what really had taken place to have wasted so many fish that might otherwise have spawned naturally or supplied eggs to the hatchery.
