Gentlemen, I'm afraid I've made a wee mistake....
It became apparent last night that I have inadvertantly omitted one entrants fly from the display. I was on a night shift last night, so was unable to access my photographs to correct this shameful error until returning home just now. It seems I have somehow accidentally deleted the image from my system, and having only recently cleared out my recycle bin, it's gone. It will probably be quicker and easier for me to simply re-photograph the fly and add to the display than b
ugger about with recovery software. I will do so this afternoon as soon as I rise from sleeping off my shift.
However, this leaves us with one problem... 70 of you have already voted.. without seeing the missing fly. As far as I can see, the only fair solution is to clear all the votes and start from, ahem, scratch
I have asked admin to remove all the votes placed yesterday, so we can start again now that said fly has been added.
Of course, this late addition may or may not affect your choices, however, I feel it only fair to the tyer involved to give his fly the same chance as everyone else. His fly was among the first to arrive, and to be photographed - the mistake was mine, not his.
My sincere apologies to all involved for being such a bungling, incompetent tool.
I consulted with a couple of members involved in the competition last night, and the general consensus was to start from scratch. Yes, I could have just added the fly and asked voters to change their votes if they so wished, but some may have done so, some may not have been bothered. This way at least ensures that those that want to vote will at have to re-enter their choices, giving the 'new' fly the same chances that all the others had this time yesterday.
Again, sincere and profuse apologies gentlemen.
If you voted yesterday, please re-visit the thread, review, and replace your votes. If you have not yet voted, then please disregard this post like nothing ever happened, visit the
comp thread, admire the flies and place your votes!
The thread is now open again for you to re-consider, and replace your votes.
