Default the EA

why do the EA have to put them large wire cages around stones on the river bank thought i would go out and try my new waders and have a go for some grayling and low and behold the metal cage ripped my waders

i think i have been lucky it just ripped the outer layer and its not gone all the way through , i packed up after i did it so i guess the next time i go out will be the big test

Diver Dave on this Forum may be able to repair them if the damage is repairable.

The wire cage is to keep all stones together in a block. Must be cheaper then using great lumps of concrete.

They're called gabion baskets and are used in all sorts of "hard" construction. They last well, and do provide lots of niches for all sorts to hide in.

i do agree with them they do a good job it was just me a clumsey sod i will pay alot more attention around them in the future
