Default River West - Waterproof Fleeces

I've heard a few great things about these fleeces.....basically that they are really good, warm and waterproof...looking at their website there are some bold claims !

Personally I've never heard of them - and wonder at some of their claims "10 year waterproof guarantee" etc...

Has anyone acually got one and abused it for a few years....?? if so how do they stand up....

Cheers Rob

Rob, are these the folks? The Original Waterproof Fleece

If so they've been here in the PNW for over 20 years and build very good 'stuff' for when the weather turns really nasty.

We bought 12 sets for our wildfowling shoot in Orkney and have used them throughout the last season.

They offer extemely good protection from both wind and rain but the waterproofing is a bit suspect when adding pressure - e.g. kneeling or sitting on wet ground. I have had 3 or 4 zips break on the jackets.

They are fairly expensive but on balance our clients remained very happy, dry and warm.

They are indeed the ones Fred.....

They look the business and i'll probably splash out and buy one....

Plus if "wildfowlers" think there good then that'll do for me....i think the conditions they'll be out in will probably be a fair bit worse than what i endure...

Indeed Rob, indeed. Products are a great fav of winter Steelhead fishermen and boaters. Was taken by the comment about the broken zipper(s). Given the type they use I'm surprised (they're really heavy duty). If they've given up, I suspect the manufacturer would like to be contacted.
