They should know they had to send it out as they have my name and address when ordered... surely that should suffice


Quite simple really... surely a persons details should go directly on a mailing list. Normal business acumen I would say... unless a company is offering false promises like so many fishing mail order companies do including TF, T&S magazine etc.
While I'm at it.... why do these particular magazines pretend to offer so much to the fly angler when in reality they are at the mercy of the big companies... who fill their pages with advertising. When in reality most of the gear these big companies... including Hardy's etc.... are trying to sell is geared (pardon the pun) to the newcomer offering the next super dooper wonder stick or the next state of the art wonder fly line or whatever. When in reality the stuff is cheap cr*p straight out of a factory in China and falls to pieces or breaks in a few months. I could go on...............
