Thats great news for the River Derwent and the N/East.
Wonder if they will install a fish ladder at Derwent reservoir so the fish could get into the higher reaches to their old spawning grounds before the Derwent was built.

Take the weir out and there is no need for a fish pass. The whole river should be a fish pass. Weirs are illegal in England so why do we tolerate them?

Lets be thankfull for what we have got ant 77.
I have learnt that they dont take much notice of what the public see while walking the banks of our rivers.
I sometimes wonder why i bother reporting things i see and just sit on the fence and let it all flow by.
Shame
