Default Pretty fly for a white guy

I'm hoping that I can pick your brains.

I fish a small still water and was hoping for some advice on flies. What would be your top ten flies to take to such a water?

Thanks.

Which one is it? And are you talking about fishing now or throughout the year?

Sorry Bill I thought I'd put time of fishing. I mean for these early months and it's this one I'll be going to. Home I have fished here often in the past but blanked may times, so help and advice very much appreciated.

Cheers Steve.

According to their website, buzzers, dries, damsells and lures. This time of year buzzers, lures and wet flies. I'd go with full arrangement of buzzers: weighted, standard and suspender. If you are going soon, remember it's cold, bright and the water probably very clear. The fish will not want to move much or chase at high speed. They could be sat quite deep. Fluoro leader and a quiet stealth approach and do your best not to disturb the water too much on casting.

It's suppose to be less visible in water and will sink. Will still need degreesing with sinkant which will also help to take the shine of it. 2 or 3 turn water knott for droppers or attaching tippet and usual blood knott or tucked blood knott. I here people having problems over knott strength but I haven't found that, just dodgey knotts at times. My own fault. Not too good for dries as when it sinks it can drag the dries under. It also has thicker diameter than mono sor same breaking strain but don't worry about this, as said, it is suppose to be almost invisble in water.
