Default Type of goretex used in waders?
Anyone know what type of goretex is used in waders, specifically, whether it's single skin, or has a liner, or if it's thicker, and less water permeable than standard Goretex?

Goretex is a membrain.that is normally covered with a coating of ,Say Cordura nylon to give it abraision resistance and strength .I also believe that it is the Cordura that is doubled,trebled.at the wear points.

In my experience water permeable Goretex® is used in many waders.

Does anyone know why goretex wading material isn't used in wading jackets? Seems to have all the right attributes.

It's the same stuff. you buy a Sage jkt it has the same membrain as the waders..there is a wee fact that gets forgoton.It's only the part of breathable waders thats not underwater that can breath.the part that's underwater does not breath.

Of course it does Bert.but the goretex membrain cannot breath when it is underwater.
