Default Fishing Vests/Waistcoats

Anyone know of a good quality vest, that can hold quite a bit of gear and easy to cast with? For a decent price?

Cheers.

Scott

I bought a cheap Leeda one. It was rubbish. My wife bought me a Greys one for Xmas, and it's excellent. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Shouldn't this be in the wanted section........

Depends what you want to take with you I suppose. One of the reasons I like fly fishing is you can turn up with next to no gear and fish away no problem.
I'd doesn't however stop most of us filling every pocket with junk we will never use.
Bit like a shed. No matter how big you'll always fill it.

Just to expand on why I didn't like the Leeda, it's not just the amount of storage, it's the fact that the pockets just close with a bit of velcro in the middle of the flap, not at all secure. Things fall out of them too easily. So do check things like that when looking at them.

Scott, You need to pop over and see mine? Another vote for the Airflo Vest and Back Pack. In the rear large pouch I have four spare spools and a large C&F fly box. In the small rear pouch a torch, priest, spare leader x 2 and neo gloves.

The front pouches have vast amounts of space and I'm not going to mention what's in those.

You can carry a large amount of gear in these rigs, which is why they're so popular. Plus they're all one size and will fit most people. Get to an outlet and see for yourself??

Best Regards

Stuart

Scott, the airflo pack and vest got great reviews and I pm'd a couple of guys who owned one and they really raved about them. I wouldnt need the backpack every time as, like others , sometimes only get 2-3 hrs on the river and dont need food, but the pack can be tightened up with the two straps so no bulk.
