I just got back from J N in Penrith.
Anyone have any tips on the condom spinner. I picked one up out of curiosity and will try it for pike along with my normal shads, plugs and spinners.
Not traditional fly fishing stuff I know but hopefully the storm troopers are out burning books or something and I can get a few tips.

Caught plenty of Salmon and Sea Trout on condoms or rubber tailed spinners(condoms are frowned upon by the catholics in Ireland)
When I have used them for Pike have only picked up Perch
Not saying you wont catch but I'd stick to the more conventional

I am a mepps fan mostly and chuck the occasional rubber shad but for pirch I can't beat the curly tailed soft shads.
Ah well I may give it a wet on the Irwell next month. Pike upto 30lb but way too small for such a beasty.

Problem with flying c's Salmon take them deep making catch and release a tad more risky, similar in a way to sunken boobies....I personally would not use them if i intended returning what I catch.
