Default Days Fishing on Corrib, Conn or Lough Melvin

As part of the fundraising drive of the Irish Trout Fly Fishing team for the International on Lough Sheelin in May, I have been kindly donated a number of Days Ghilling by prominent Irish Anglers to help our fundraising.

1. A days fishing on Lough Corrib with Irish International, Mr. Basil Shields of Ardnasillagh Lodge.

2. A days fishing on Lough Conn, including, rods, lunch and a cup of tea with Mr. Kelly Kettle himself, Padraic Kelly also an Irish International Angler.

3. A days fishing on Lough Melvin, with a local angler over the Easter period or summer period, with a local angler who will supply a dozen super complimentary flies to the winning bidder.

If you are interested in having a day out on ones of these super Irish Loughs while in the company of prominent anglers, please pm me or email me at loughsheelininternational@gmail.com

On behalf of the Irish Fly Fishing team, I extend my sincere thanks to those anglers who have kindly donated their services.

We are on the look out for sponsorship for the team so if anyone is willing to help out in any way we would be truly greatful.

Im pretty tied up this year with holidays,so cant get to Ireland.
Ive fished Conn and Corrib in the past and have to say its some of the best boat fishing i have ever had :thumbs.
The fishing is not easy but its truly wild and the scenery is wonderful, if you get the chance you must go.

Totally agree with Airsprite.

Likewise i'm tied up also, but having spent a day on Conn with Padraic Kelly years ago, i would thoroughly recommend it, great day and excellent craic.

Padraic may recall the day, a pike and an eel had a fight on the surface just in front of our boat.

Good luck with the fund raiser

Best regards
Jim

Well worth bidding on if you have the money....
You won't get better guides than Mr Padraic Kelly or Mr Basil Shields..
You will love the stories from Padraic..

Will have to see if i can skip a mortgage payment or something

Cheers,
JJ

Hi Jim,

just after seeing your post. Will mention it to dad and will get back to you on it later. The memory is still super, so I'm sure he will remember you and the incident.

Still no bids on these cracking offers Any of them would be a great day out with the best ghillies on the lakes in question. Would make a great present for someone as well

Seamus

It wasn't your dad seamus it was your brother Patrick (Padraic ?) it was in 1990. That year was the first time Ireland had qualified for the World Cup, there was a real party atmosphere in Ballina, from memory they went out 1-0 to the holders Italy in the quarter final, it however never dampened anyones spirits.

Your brother met us later for a drink, said my friend was a ringer for the england player Chris Waddell, Patrick can tell some stories he had us in stiches the whole day

Best regards
Jim

Just a quick reminder on these fantastic offers. All dates still available and I am very much open to sensible offers. Now that the weather is getting a lot milder, people might be more willing to start thinking about heading out on the water. A choice of Corrib, Conn or Melvin.....can't think of a better way to spend the afternoon

Day on Lough Conn with Padraic Kelly is now taken so thanks for that. Still 2 other fantastic offers still available.

A day on Lough Corrib with Basil Shiels or a day on Melvin with some flies thrown in for good measure with Marizon Midge. Cannot believe these days have not been snapped up. What better way could you spend an afternoon. Great scenery, fantastic fishing, excellent company
