Question charging a liesure battery?

Been told by battery manufacturer. While batterys not in use it should be kept on a trickle charge at all times , this is a new one to me? Can Anybody put more light on the matter?

Only do this if your charger has a maintenance cycle.otherwise stick it on a low setting for a day once a month

My Leisure Battery is on charge all the time. If it has a full charge the charger goes into a maintenance mode.

"Yup" to all of the above. A 'deep cycle' battery charger is quite different (charging/monitoring) than that of a regular 12 volt auto charger. If memory serves, a deep cycle charger 'Pulses' rather than a constant (at what ever # of amps) charge.

Angry Re: charging a liesure battery?

Thanks for replys. I've been looking at a few charging advice sites from sellers, manufacturers, etc. Some say overcharging will ruin it, some say leave on a trickle charge? ? Seems to be a bit confusion here, paying about £100 we can do with some clear cut info on this! !!!.
