Default Rawtenstall

Hi all forgive me for posting this again but i do need a bit of help. is ther any fly fishing around Rawtenstall.I will be visting a freind next week and he would like to try his hand at fly fishing, however he cannot walk very far so good access to the water would be good.Cheers Maxie

You could take him to Pennine Fishery at Littleborough. It's not everybody's cup of tea but the access is good and he's as good a chance of catching something there as anywhere.

Hillside is the easyest access round the valley as the owner will allow you to back the car right upto the water if you ask and the bank is flat and very well maintained.
Out of Rawtenstall head for Burnley and out through Crawshaw Booth.
As you gain altitude the fishery is to your left. it is sighnposted from the main road and easy to find.

Its not the easyest to catch on but if all fails find the corner with the spring/pipe flowing into it as all the new fish hang around here and just about any wet fly dropped amongst them will save a blank.
