I'm surprised at the lack of replies to this thread, many of you fish the rivers which contribute to the Severn estuary yet very few have commented on the consultation or the damage which many sewin and salmon anglers have seen and recorded this season.

Is it a case of conservation fatigue?

It takes a minute or two to email the consultaion, support for the proposition will ensure inshore trawling ends and the fishing in South Wales and South West England will improve.

You may never intend fishing those areas but please consider the good which your contribution will acheive.

Here's hoping the sixty odd viewers to date have all emailed the consultation.....

141 views, 2 replies.....Inshore trawling along the coast of South Wales doesn't just affect the Ogmore, fish destined to run many other rivers will be caught as well. Fish from the Taff for example a river not unknown to the forum, let's see some of the Taff regulars responding please.

I'm not a salmon angler - but I've sent a reply to the consultation. I keep my eyes peeled for consultations and try and reply to as many as I can.

Here's hoping it has some effect. There are already huge environmental and commercial pressures on migratory fish around the Welsh coast. Any steps we can take to alleviate these pressures should be taken. We need to protect these genetically unique fish for future generations.
