Default Millbuies trout fishery(boat Only)

We are pleased to announce that we have now (at last) taken on Millbuies trout fishery near Elgin.

The fishery is all boat and is over 13 acres in size with depths to 17 ft in some places. It has been run by the council for over 30 plus years and is set in peacefull secluded woodland and is very sheltered.

There is 4 boats at present with another 2 boats to go in and float tubes will be allowed in the top loch only(max 2 at a time)

Anyone who has fished it in the past will know that this water is a jewel and a pleasure to fish and we intend to see it realise its full potential and offer all anglers a memorable days fishing and enjoyment. As with the Glen of rothes trout fishery the fish will be top quality.

Picture of the bottom small loch.
All bookings will be made through the Glen tel number which is manned 7 days a week and only a mile and half from Millbuies.

It will be a Troutmaster water but the fish size will range from 1lb 8ozs to 5lbs being the main stock with a trickle of fish from 5 lbs to double figures. The emphasis is on value for money, hard fighting fish, top quality sport and not size of fish.

We will be open for bookings for clubs etc on first come first served basis.

Opening day will be 23rd March 2012.

Prices for a session will be around £18 with £4 for boat which makes it if 2 anglers in a boat £20.

More details will be placed as soon as we get it all sorted out and I hope that if your in the area you will give it a try.

A view of location and shape of lochs.

Great news Kevin, I was up again with work this week and if I had know that, I would have called as it was a bit blowy for me at 'the Glen' but it would have been sheltered enough for me there, good luck mate, you deserve it.

Should have come in for a cuppa Billy.Thats the good thing about it,if its windy at the Glen and you dont like it,then Millbuies is very sheltered and doesnt get the wind as much.Always a nice sheltered bay to go in.

Have you ever fished it Billy?

Even the dog enjoys it in the boat,The fish were never huge but great sport.

There is toilets on site aswell and even the small walk to the boats is relaxing. The wildlife you see around is great.Squirrels, owls, osprey aswell.Stags come down for a drink out of the woods,Alot to see and an enjoyable day.

The sessions will be from around 8am to 4pm and 4pm to dusk. There is a good head of wild Browns in there from the burns and plenty of insect life. The picture in the first post is only one half of the loch and there is alot more beyond that.

Will see you next time your up.

Many moons I got shouted at for parking on the Lord Lieutenants lawn (I think it was his) while I wandered round to see the lake. A very pretty site, congratulations

Hi Vince

Dont think this was it as it has nothing to do with the Lord lieutenants.I think you may mean somewhere else. This has two big lochs, inter connected totalling 13 plus acres surrounded by trees. You can walk round it though as the pictures show.
We wont shout unless your fishing without permission.

Id be interested in hearing from anyone who has fished it in the past and their experiences and it gives us a starting line on how we can improve on anything.

Im not interested in monster fish, the stock size will be 1lb 8oz to 5 lbs with a few up to double figures as the fish to 5lbs are good fighting fish and will give better sport. They will be fullfinned and tailed just as Our other fishery has.

Our main aim is that we offer decent fishing at a decent price in a relaxing enviroment that people can go away and say they have enjoyed a day at the lochs.

Thanks for the good wishes all.

Best of luck,
Mike
