Optically the glass lens is far better than many I have seen so I bought one.

The lens is excellent @ Diopter 5 which is X 2.5 it is glass and extremely usable unlike others I have looked at. The lens also has dust cover which is a nice touch as you know how the bits fly when you tie.

The LED ring lighting is very even and bright even though it only takes 11 watts which is roughly 60w in old money of light output. My light temperature meter gives it 5500k which is just a tadge under daylight balance.

For me the absolute best of all is that the lens is very easily removable and replaceable which make it perfect for very even lighting for table top photography shooting through the ring giving results very much like a ring flash. Perfect for detailed shots of flies and other complicated shaped small objects.

3 years warranty £30 what more do you want !

Thanks for posting! Just bagged one. 72 LEDs did it for me, and at last i'll be able to tie size 32 using the lens...yeah, right!

Robust, isn't it? You could club a burglar to death with it, I reckon.
