Default Change in hours at Chew

We are hearing that Bristol Water are to change their boat fishing times this year.
Boat fishing will stop at sunset, rather than the current rule of a hour after sunset.
This last hour or so is often the most productive period in summer so it is a great shame.
Not sure if this is an attempt to save costs or whether there are the dreaded "elf and sarfety" issues at play.
Does anyone know of any other fisheries where similar rule changes are being proposed?

Blimey - we used to think when we went down there that they were strict dragging you off an hour after sunset! As you say, it is often the period you have been waiting all evening for and you had to stop right in the middle or get a rollicking for being late at the dock. If they are bringing you off an hour sooner, the 'evening rise' won't even be started!

Most of the waters up this way are pretty good with their evening finishes. Many have no fixed finishing time - you come in after it's all gone quiet. Most of the ones that do give you a decent kick of the ball. Loch Leven has an 11.30 pm finish in high summer, and there was a spell a few years back when it had a midnight finish. Try selling that one to BWA

This is not good news-as you say the last hour can save an otherwise average day .Do you know if this applies to Blagdon as well.

all the best Nick

Nick
I believe it is a chnage in their general rules - so, yes, it will apply to Blagdon as well.
